GAINS has built a demand forecasting method that trains cross-SKUL, decouples predictions for a single SKUL (e.g., the 2-month-ahead forecast can use a different model than the 3-month-ahead forecast), is applicable to new item launches, and incorporates exogenous data. Using all available data, the model finds the best method for each forecast period for each SKUL: the machine answers questions about “historical forecasting” vs. “outside in forecasting” for us.
