Earth Day 2022 reminds us to Invest in Our Planet. It is a time to step back and assess what each of us is doing to create a greener future. For our supply chain management team at GAINS, this day is not just one for reflection but also for celebrating what GAINS has achieved through its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives to deliver a sustainable supply chain. As a supply chain management leader, we are committed to continuing to support supply chain sustainability and make a favorable impact on our environment in the months and years ahead.
All of us at GAINS are passionate about giving back to the communities where we reside and to sustainable practices, and taking action to positively impact our global economy with supply chain sustainability and social initiatives . Our business is growing, and so is our investment in community-supporting solar energy as well as Haitian student lunch and clean water access water programs.
Carbon Footprint Offset
On Earth Day 2022, we are pleased to announce that GAINS endeavors to increasingly offset its carbon footprint by sponsoring sustainable solar array construction that also provides direct local community support. This commitment is at the heart of our company. Our progress is already delivering a tangible impact, including the equivalent of 600 trees planted, equating to 68,000 pounds of CO2 emissions saved.
Local and Global Environmental Impact
The GAINSystems Combined Emissions Offset and Community Center Energy Initiative is in its fourth year, having completed solar arrays at multiple community hosting locations in Chicago. Every year each installation generates over $6,000 in reduced energy costs and solar credits for the community.
Growing Greener with Each New Customer and Employee The company’s ESG initiatives and investments are accelerating as its business grows through the following:
- GAINS increases its investment in solar arrays with every new subscribing customer for industry leading supply chain sustainability. The data center energy consumed by each GAINS customer has been offset with installed solar arrays since 2018.
- For every new employee, GAINS provides lunch for another Haitian student through the Barco Nightingales Foundation. The company increased its global employee count by 44 percent in the last two years and has almost doubled its commitment.
At GAINS, the future is bright, and we hope that this update inspires others to Invest in Our Planet on Earth Day 2022 and beyond.
