Discover how businesses can boost efficiency and effectiveness through customized software designed to meet their unique needs.

Bill Benton (00:15):

This idea of chasing the right answer, unquote, this is ancient. But it’s a fool’s errand to myopically focus on it.

Amber Salley (00:23):

Striving for the right or perfect answer is unattainable because for every decision that you’re trying to make, there are many different variables, and those variables are all constantly changing.

Bill (00:36):

The goal is embracing management of that uncertainty, so you can reduce the uncertainty, but you can’t reduce it to zero.

Amber (00:43):

You attempt to make the right decision on those variables. By the time the decision’s made, one variables has changed, so the impact of the result of that decision has changed as well.

Bill (00:55):

Job one is embracing and managing the uncertainty, and job two is to reduce it, because if you can have fewer buffers to manage it, you’re going to outcompete your competition

Amber (01:05):

Instead of looking at the traditional metrics that supply chains have looked at for decades, to start thinking about metrics that can help measure how much we are able to manage around the uncertainty and volatility.
